Letters to my daughter – Truth# 1.You are loved

Dearest Aimee,

Even before you were born, since you were conceived, you were loved.  It was for this love that you were created, and there will be no greater truth that I can tell you as your father, no greater lesson or message that I can convey than that this is your purpose.  To experience, to witness, to be a part of and to give love. All Love started from God, and so finds its perfection in Him.  We love because He loved us first.  We, your parents here are your guardians, and will share all that we have, imperfect as we may be with you.  We love you.  Yes, you are our angel, and a blessing and sign of God’s love for us, and a part of God’s plan for us.  But no matter what hardships you go through, and whatever mistakes you may make.  No matter what you do, you are loved.  It is not conditional, but a part of your identity, the DNA of your soul. And it is because of this love, you will always find your way home.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Do not buy into all the things the world might see as Love, (riches, power, pleasures, cheap thrills, self gratification)  rather know that love is not selfishness, nor does it take for itself, but gives.

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth.  It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  Love never ends.

No matter what the world offers, in the end only perfect love found in God will satisfy the longing of your soul, and part of that is to receive love from others and to give love to others. But rather than the world’s perspective, see the example of love on the cross and what it means.  You may not understand this fully, but if you seek the truth, The Holy Spirit will reveal it to you.

I pray for you a life Full of amazing experiences, happiness, joy and yes…. That you may live a full life, a life full of Love!

Your Dad
